RECYCLING

Mandatory

Recycling

Shrewsbury Borough Ordinance 1991-1 makes recycling mandatory for residential customers and large commercial/industrial businesses.
There is a fine for violation of not less than $25.00 or more than $600.00 plus costs of prosecution, and if in default of payment thereof, imprisonment for not more than thirty days.
Each continuing day of violation of the ordinance shall constitute a separate offense.

The Borough receives a yearly grant based on the tonnage recycled. This money is applied toward the annual refuse costs.
If you need a recycling bin, please call the Borough Office at 235-4371.
Please use the Maroon Bins as provided by the Borough. Recycling is collected on Fridays.

Guidelines for recycling can be seen by clicking here.

Guidelines for large items can be seen by clicking here.
