| Sewer
Backups The borough recommends that homeowners connected to the public sewer system purchase insurance called a "backup of sewer and drain endorsement" normally offered inexpensively through homeowners' insurance to cover sewer backups occurring in the system. The borough's insurance is immune from covering damage to homes when a backup occurs unless the borough is found to be at fault. |

Emergency preparedness is everyone's responsibility and the York County Office of Emergency Management (OEM) wants to help ensure everyone is “READY” if a significant emergency or disaster occurs. In an effort to do this, the OEM is embarking upon a “READY” campaign that includes a new website and public service announcements to help citizens be better prepared. In partnership with the Ad Council and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, three localized versions of “READY” public service announcements have been produced to urge community members to think about their level of preparedness and to encourage them to visit the OEM’s new website: www.ready-york.org. This website provides citizens with valuable information about how to prepare for various man-made and natural emergencies and disasters. |
Please visit www.ready-york.org and keep your eye out for the PSAs on our local TV stations. In addition, please share this website with your co-workers, friends, neighbors and loved ones. Stay safe,
